The Exhibition is extended up till 30th July 2018
Thursday 7th JUNE / Thursday 5th JULY
Opening Night Thursday 7th June
I played music in various avant garde and experimental groups for over twenty years before concentrating on visual art and, having graduated from Chelsea School of Art in 2006 I’ve shown in group and solo shows both at home and abroad.
My paintings have become explorations and manifestations of failure.
As I seek to understand the interwoven elements of power and control within society the paintings break down into various pictures of awkwardness and disorder.
Just as evolution is fed and driven by mistakes and mutations, I allow my work to find its own voice and aesthetic within this process.

DEBORAH TUMI ODUALE
I am Deborah Tumi Oduale, born and bred in the UK to Parents who are of African descent. Art was one of my favorite subjects during my secondary school and A-Levels, with hopes of taking a degree in Art. However, I ended up bagging a BA degree in Economics, graduating with First Class and went for my Masters in Finance and Investment. In 2012, I relocated to Nigeria for the first time and served the country through a program called NYSC. This visit exposed me to different cultures, traditions, life-style and the Art world in Africa. My passion for Art deepened even more. During the program I raised funds for charity through my art work to support an Orphanage. I returned to the UK in 2015, and I have since continued my art.
I am an abstract artist who favors the use of vibrant colors, doodles, mix media and figures. My art works are inspired by Biblical faith and my personal life experience as a Christian. My artwork is a powerful communication platform I use to share a message of hope and ‘Godfidence’. I describe the canvas as my microphone, and the drawings/paintings as my voice to echo messages I choose to share to the world. With this, I always long to leave them stimulated and encouraged. I also express my art through live performances, where I take the audience on an adventurous journey with myself, and my paint brush.

I am originally from the midlands, however, I moved to London when I was twenty-one years old this is where I became a free spirit. I then proceeded to move to Belgium. I lived there for three years before returning to London. Whilst I lived in Belgium, I experienced the culture, French language, social aspects and got to know upcoming song writers. I currently live in Windsor which is semi-rural area, where I raised two children. Since living here for nearly twenty years I have begun to start writing poetry and taking up my art work again.
My artwork is influenced and inspired by nature, culture and various emotions. I like individuals to create their own concepts from my artwork too meaning that it is versatile and personalized so that anyone could look at it, no matter who they are. I believe that my artwork displays many diverse opinions. I use mixtures of acrylic and water colour in experimental methods and contemporized forms. Many of my pieces show women, from different walks of life, I liked to portray these women as free spirits who are content with themselves. In a lot of my artwork I use sunflowers; sunflowers are thought by some as a positive outlook on life and symbolize enlightenment.
