Food Bank

Food Bank

More than 14 million people in the UK, including 4.5 million children, live in poverty. In the UK, we enable more than 1,200 food bank locations to offer a minimum of three days’ worth of nutritionally-balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in distress, as well as assistance to help people manage the difficulties they encounter.

A record 1.9 million food supplies were given to persons in need by food banks in our network between April 2019 and March 2020, an increase of 18% over the previous year. During the coronavirus epidemic, the demand for food banks increased even higher.

We support a nationwide network of food banks, and together we help individuals trapped in poverty by giving them emergency food and support. We also seek to reform policies, so that food banks no longer exist in the UK.
